SUMMARY:Music - Susanna Laird
DESCRIPTION:Susanna Laird is a singer-songwriter\, guitarist and pianist from Frederick Maryland.  She has been performing most of her life as a singer\, pianist and choir member in a variety of settings while also raising her kids\, homeschooling and teaching music lessons. Recently she has been focusing on songwriting and performing as a solo singer/guitarist. Her music is deeply influenced by gospel musicians like Andre Crouch and Mavis Staples as well as folk music like the Indigo Girls and Tracy Chapman and blues music like Bonnie Raitt. Her favorite songs to sing are “Midnight Train to Georgia”\, “Country Roads” and “Closer to Fine.”  Performing throughout the Mid-Atlantic region has given Susanna a deep appreciation for the cultural connection people here have to their communities as well as to the forests\, creeks\, mountains\, bay and ocean.  She loves to honor the local culture by playing music that resonates with people who call this beautiful area home.
