DESCRIPTION:Originally I’m from Frederick\, MD. I grew up right outside of town\, always being exposed to the plethora of local artists and happenings there. Music runs in my family. My uncle gave me a drum set during the summer after 4th grade. I loved it but my parents didn’t care much for the noise. So in 6th grade\, I got my first electric guitar. Family parties quickly turned into full-on stage productions with the whole family running through the gamut of hits from all the greats like The Beatles\, Tom Petty\, Rolling Stones\, Steve Miller Band\, Bob Marley\, and on and on. I’ve been focusing mostly on acoustic music for the last seven years or so\, blending my own mix of rock\, reggae\, psychedelic bluegrass\, and beyond. My favorite song to play has to be Cleaning Windows\, by Van Morrison. As a local\, I feel a weight of responsibility to help keep MD’s live music scene alive\, vibrant\, and thriving!

It was here she discovered her natural ability to sing!\nJohn Mayer and Stevie Ray Vaughan are her biggest influences. \nBryan Wolf grew up in Brookeville\, MD.\nHis passion for listening to music started when he was young with the Backstreet Boys and radio country.\nBryan was quick to pick up a guitar at 13 years old once he started listening to the rock of the ’60s and 70’s once introduced to Led Zeppelin\, Pink Floyd\, and AC DC.\nBryan’s biggest influences are Father John Misty and the Beatles. \nBeing local TO US means contributing to and supporting the community that helped raise and support us. It means seeing familiar faces at our gigs around town and running into people we haven’t seen for years but feel like we’ve never lost touch with.

The only song\, “Hold Me Down” is the one that you’ll hear him sing and has gained so much appreciation from his audiences. His journey with music began in his childhood\, playing with friends and family in his hometown of Brookeville\, Maryland. In the early 2010s his band won The Next Big Thing Battle of the Band at the 9:30 Club\, released two albums and performed an East Coast tour. \nNoah’s love for music led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Maryland\, where he honed his skills as a musician and performer. After graduating\, he played regularly with a jazz trio and hosted house show performances in the DIY music scene. In 2018\, he took his talent to Los Angeles\, where he worked as a professional musician. His skills and passion for music opened doors to travel and perform across the nation. \nNoah’s dedication to music extends beyond performing. He has been teaching music for over a decade\, sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring musicians. His teaching style is engaging and supportive\, creating a positive learning environment for his students. \nNoah returned to Maryland in 2022 and performs solo regularly. His passion for music is contagious\, and he continues to inspire and encourage others to pursue their dreams in music. Whether he’s performing on stage\, teaching a lesson\, or collaborating with other musicians\, Noah is a creative musician who is dedicated to the art of music.

DESCRIPTION:Joe grew up in NJ\, and became fascinated with the electric guitar after hearing the Venture’s Walk Don’t Run and Pipeline. After a year of lessons\, he was gifted his first real guitar\, which he still has. \nHis first band\, The 007s\, played songs by artists such as The Monkees and The Searchers. The music from 1968-1972 (Led Zeppelin\, Grand Funk\, Black Sabbath) helped shape Joe’s style. After moving to Bel Air\, he played in several local bands – 195\, Circle of Fire\, and Tainted Souls. \nKaren grew up in Elkridge\, MD. Although she had no vocal training\, she enjoyed singing along to Stevie Nicks\, Wynonna Judd and Tanya Tucker. She started her musical career when her dad bought a set of drums and decided to start a band. After searching unsuccessfully for a lead singer\, Karen asked if she could give it a try and nailed down the job for Crossfire. Over the years\, personnel changed\, and band names changed to The 8* Day and Flashpoint\, and finally\, Wasted Gravity. \nIn 2013\, Joe answered an ad for a lead guitarist and auditioned for Wasted Gravity\, and that’s when Karen and Joe started playing music together. When the pandemic hit and put the music scene on hold\, the band resorted to online practices. The practices didn’t go as well as expected and eventually\, Joe and Karen were the only ones to continue. The vision changed and Joe swapped out his electric guitar for an acoustic guitar. Their repertoire grew and when outdoor venues started to re-open\, One Step Down played its first gig in October 2020. Their love for many different musical genres shaped their style. Ask what kind of music they play\, and they will respond\, “Patsy Cline and Nancy Sinatra to Metallica and Iron Maiden and everything in between!”

They emphasize passionate vocals\, rhythmic guitar\, and harmony.\n\nSelena Rawlley\nSelena has a captivating voice with an exceptional low register along with great stage presence. Selena graduated from Clarksburg High School and holds a masters degree in public policy from the University of Maryland. Selena has been performing since she was a little kid. Selena sang in choir throughout her youth and performed in several musicals. At the University of Maryland\, Selena was a singer and arranger in one of the university’s premier a cappella groups. Her favorite bands are Third Eye Blind\, The 1975\, Fleetwood Mac\, and Taylor Swift.\n\nDave Weber\nDave Weber is experienced guitarist\, multi-instrumentalist\, singer\, audio engineer\, and music producer. Dave graduated from Wootton High School and holds a bachelors degree in computer science from the University of Maryland. He performs at area venues well over a hundred times a year. Growing up\, Dave’s favorite music genres were progressive rock and jazz/rock fusion. Today\, Dave loves all types of music. There is nothing Dave enjoys more in music than singing harmony with excellent female singers such as Selena. Dave has lived in Montgomery County nearly his whole and loves being a part of the local music scene.

DESCRIPTION:Maddie is the lead singer and rhythm guitar of the band\, an Olney girl who loves to rock out with her band of boys that communicate usually with nods and grunts. Lorenzo is the keyboard player and backup vocalist\, a classically trained pianist who also swims with Zev the drummer\, an Olney kid who has been playing the drums since kick drumming in utero and has never stopped. Jaden is the silent anchor of the band\, the bass player who played in a group with the swimmers last summer and never left. Meyer is the lead guitar who lives eats and breathes guitar\, and has been playing 90s rock with Zev for years in the garage. They are Burnout\, happy to rock\, here there and everywhere\, and pumped to be at Lone Oak 3/19!

SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC - BAGPIPER EXTRAORDINAIRE OLIVIA CORCORAN
DESCRIPTION:Olivia Corcoran is a Maryland native\, born and raised minutes down the road from Lone Oak Farm. She began playing the bagpipes at the age of 8\, when she was inspired by young pipers at a the Anne Arundel Scottish Festival. In 2009\, she joined the Rockville High School Pipe Band\, and became Pipe Major of the band in 2015. Olivia is now an instructor for the band\, which has since evolved into the Maryland Youth Pipe Band.\n\nOlivia currently plays and competes with the MacMillan Pipe Band\, one of the top competitive pipe bands in North America\, based in the DC area. With her band\, she has traveled around the US\, to Canada\, and to Scotland to perform and compete. This August\, she and her band are traveling to Glasgow to compete in the World Piping Championships. She has played a variety of events\, from car shows and retirement parties\, to boy scout celebrations and weddings. She is always looking for opportunities to perform\, and is grateful to Lone Oak for allowing her to play for St. Pat’s!
