SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC - ONE STEP DOWN
DESCRIPTION:Joe grew up in NJ\, and became fascinated with the electric guitar after hearing the Venture’s Walk Don’t Run and Pipeline. After a year of lessons\, he was gifted his first real guitar\, which he still has. \nHis first band\, The 007s\, played songs by artists such as The Monkees and The Searchers. The music from 1968-1972 (Led Zeppelin\, Grand Funk\, Black Sabbath) helped shape Joe’s style. After moving to Bel Air\, he played in several local bands – 195\, Circle of Fire\, and Tainted Souls. \nKaren grew up in Elkridge\, MD. Although she had no vocal training\, she enjoyed singing along to Stevie Nicks\, Wynonna Judd and Tanya Tucker. She started her musical career when her dad bought a set of drums and decided to start a band. After searching unsuccessfully for a lead singer\, Karen asked if she could give it a try and nailed down the job for Crossfire. Over the years\, personnel changed\, and band names changed to The 8* Day and Flashpoint\, and finally\, Wasted Gravity. \nIn 2013\, Joe answered an ad for a lead guitarist and auditioned for Wasted Gravity\, and that’s when Karen and Joe started playing music together. When the pandemic hit and put the music scene on hold\, the band resorted to online practices. The practices didn’t go as well as expected and eventually\, Joe and Karen were the only ones to continue. The vision changed and Joe swapped out his electric guitar for an acoustic guitar. Their repertoire grew and when outdoor venues started to re-open\, One Step Down played its first gig in October 2020. Their love for many different musical genres shaped their style. Ask what kind of music they play\, and they will respond\, “Patsy Cline and Nancy Sinatra to Metallica and Iron Maiden and everything in between!”

In the early 2010s his band won The Next Big Thing Battle of the Band at the 9:30 Club\, released two albums and performed an East Coast tour. \nNoah’s love for music led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Maryland\, where he honed his skills as a musician and performer. After graduating\, he played regularly with a jazz trio and hosted house show performances in the DIY music scene. In 2018\, he took his talent to Los Angeles\, where he worked as a professional musician. His skills and passion for music opened doors to travel and perform across the nation. \nNoah’s dedication to music extends beyond performing. He has been teaching music for over a decade\, sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring musicians. His teaching style is engaging and supportive\, creating a positive learning environment for his students. \nNoah returned to Maryland in 2022 and performs solo regularly. His passion for music is contagious\, and he continues to inspire and encourage others to pursue their dreams in music. Whether he’s performing on stage\, teaching a lesson\, or collaborating with other musicians\, Noah is a creative musician who is dedicated to the art of music.

DESCRIPTION:Joseph R Monasterial is a Singer-Songwriter and Acoustic Guitarist based in the Washington DC area. He grew up in Montgomery County\, MD and started performing as a local musician since he was 16 years old. Being close to family\, friends and meeting so many loving\, supportive people encouraged him even more to go after his dream. He is musically talented\, humble and quite shy but can easily write a song when inspired. \nHis first song “I’ve Always Wondered” is a song he sang just a few times and among several other songs remained tucked away. The only song\, “Hold Me Down” is the one that you’ll hear him sing and has gained so much appreciation from his audiences. He is now slowly but surely working on his EP album. ”Got To Let Go” was completed in 2022 and is working on his 4th song this year. \nAfter graduating college in May 2021\, he gave himself a year to pursue music and in May 2022\, he chose music as his full time career. May 2022 marks the crossroad of the uncertainties of following his dream and the determination to push forward and be happy in life. He is hoping that he could release his first EP this year in May 2023 and would like to thank and call all his supporters to be there along the way. \nJoseph R Monasterial picked up his guitar at 16 years old and was quickly known for his soulful\, captivating\, unique voice. DESCRIPTION:Joseph R Monasterial is a Singer-Songwriter and Acoustic Guitarist based in the Washington DC area. He grew up in Montgomery County\, MD and started performing as a local musician since he was 16 years old. Being close to family\, friends and meeting so many loving\, supportive people encouraged him even more to go after his dream. He is musically talented\, humble and quite shy but can easily write a song when inspired. \nHis first song “I’ve Always Wondered” is a song he sang just a few times and among several other songs remained tucked away. The only song\, “Hold Me Down” is the one that you’ll hear him sing and has gained so much appreciation from his audiences. He is now slowly but surely working on his EP album. ”Got To Let Go” was completed in 2022 and is working on his 4th song this year. \nAfter graduating college in May 2021\, he gave himself a year to pursue music and in May 2022\, he chose music as his full time career. May 2022 marks the crossroad of the uncertainties of following his dream and the determination to push forward and be happy in life. He is hoping that he could release his first EP this year in May 2023 and would like to thank and call all his supporters to be there along the way. \nJoseph R Monasterial picked up his guitar at 16 years old and was quickly known for his soulful\, captivating\, unique voice. Matt’s “Grubbing Hard” instagram account quickly blew up within the local community and GHB would transform from a hobby to a legitimate food truck and catering business.” \nMATT’S THOUGHTS: \n“In early 2021 when I learned that they (Lone Oak) were building a brewery right next to my neighborhood\, I saw a perfect opportunity. I reached out to the owners and asked if I could come introduce myself and bring them a tray of bbq. The rest is history!” \n“Being from Olney I especially enjoy working with Lone Oak because of all the familiar faces we see every visit. We try to focus on the hospitality aspect as much as the food itself\, so it’s particularly fulfilling for me to see friends and neighbors supporting local businesses – and more importantly – enjoying our Que! I don’t think any food pairs better with a cold beer on a sunny day than our barbecue.” \n“My favorite food to serve 100% is our brisket. It’s one of those foods you can’t get at many places so I knew if ours was good we’d be able stand out. The brisket cooking process can take up to 18 hours and requires a lot of attention to detail\, so it’s rewarding when people recognize and appreciate the craft behind our work. It’s the best feeling when people tell us that our brisket is the best they’ve ever had. We want every bite to be the best”.
