Live Music – Pull Up a Chair

This is a familiar tale of two high school friends, who start out spinning their favorite records and eventually end up jamming together. You know, the usual. There was some travel, living on separate coasts there for a while, but all roads ultimately seem to lead back to home.
The DMV metropolitan area is a treasure trove of musical talent. The friends and family within this community who support it, and the people who work so hard in the venues that host all the merrymaking, provide all the essential elements to create an incredible arts scene in the place where we grew up. Good times!
We never stopped playing in various local bands, but never the same ones. The years saw us work day (real?) jobs, raise animals, kids, and a ruckus. There came a day though, now many years ago, hanging out after a performance – “You still playing? So am I!” And the inevitable… Let’s form a band!!!. Starting as a duo, Pull Up A Chair soon morphed into a larger band, lucky enough to play with some very talented musicians from the area along the way.
Nope, we haven’t played the Kennedy Center yet, or Carnegie Hall for that matter, but we know how to get there – practice, practice, practice. Hope and self-delusion spring eternal. We feel exceptionally fortunate to have gotten to know so many of the musicians and music-lovers who make this such a vibrant area in which to live and play.
